HIPPOCRATES OF KOS BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
The ancient Greek physician Hippocrates (Kos 460 BC – Larissa 377 BC) is perhaps the most famous personality in the history of medicine. He is widely considered the “father” of modern medicine with a rich therapeutic and writing work, far ahead of his time, which became a point of reference for later generations. Hippocrates in his writings refers, among other things, to the power of life that is established in the body with the term “nature” and makes the first historical reference to the basic rule of Homeopathy with the aphorism «τα όμοια τοις ομοίοις εισίν ιάματα» i.e., “The similars cure the similars”.
